I also build new wood canvas canoes with models from 15' to 18'. Offering a full line of supplies including brass and copper canoe tacks and other specialty fastenings, canvas, filler, lumber and more. I also conduct classes in canoe building and restoration through The Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle. I buy and occasionally sell old wooden canoes and boats in almost any condition.
I have been building and restoring canoes professionally since 1992. I build two models of wood/canvas canoe. The 15' Cheemaun is a solo or small tandem canoe designed by Rollin Thurlow. The 17' Chester Lake, a canoe of my own design is a tripping canoe. In addition, I repair and restore wood/canvas canoes and boats and am an expert in the restoration of Willits Brothers canoes. I also make handcrafted Northwoods paddles and supply materials for repairs such as tacks, canvas and filler.
