I've built canoes since 2002, always striving for perfection. I use only the best materials. The cedar, ash, spruce and cherry I use is always first quality, free of knots and other imperfections which could alter the wood's durability. Each screw and nail, the trim on the bow and stern, are of marine quality bronze and brass. Each model can be covered with top quality canvas and filling, or with a fiber and epoxy resin; your choice. All seats are made from thin strips of cane woven by hand.
I build three different models:
REPAIRS; I will be happy to repair or restore your existing wooden canoe, boat or kayak. The age is no importance, you will be astonished by the results.
Arrangements can be made for delivery or pick up your canoe along the New England border.
Camp Nominingue is an independent boys' camp located at Nominingue, Quebec, about 40 minute's drive north of Mt. Tremblant. In our 83 years we have logged over 3500 canoe trips, all in cedar-canvas canoes. We have been building and repairing cedar-canvas canoes for over 40 years. A number of Ontario and Quebec children's summer camps paddle in our canoes - one has over 40 in their fleet. Our canoe shop, which operates only in the winter months, has built over 500 canoes. We use local white cedar and white ash; brass and stainless steel fittings; #8 or #10 weight canvas; cane or ash slat seats. We carry a few finished canoes in stock, some unpainted and ready for your color.
